An uncompleted 10 book series

Summer Reading
Hello to all! I’ve been remiss in my blogging but I have a good excuse. This summer I decided to finish reading the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. A lengthy eight books with a ninth book being released in November 2021! Also, after I read each book I’m watching the series which is now available on Netflix and Starz. I love this first book so much. I don’t know how long it took Gabaldon to write these books because she puts so much into them and each one is epic. I’m curious to see how it all pans out.
I’m so engrossed in everything Scotland and I love Claire and Jamie. Please note, this series has a lot of triggers and my only criticism is that they should be duly noted. The books and the TV series are both very graphic.
All the books are lengthy running around 800-1000 pages and rich in historical and scenic details. Also, Gabaldon has several spin-offs and companion books about the series creating an enormous epic read.
I will probably read more pages and words this year than ever before given the girth of these novels, however, Goodreads tracks number of books read so I may not make my yearly goal of 100 books. Drats!
I will update this page after each book and TV season has been watched.

Book 1, Outlander, Publisher’s Blurb:

Scottish Highlands, 1945. Claire Randall, a former British combat nurse, is just back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach—an “outlander”—in a Scotland torn by war and raiding clans in the year of Our Lord 1743.
Claire is catapulted into the intrigues of a world that threatens her life, and may shatter her heart. Marooned amid danger, passion, and violence, Claire learns her only chance of safety lies in Jamie Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior. What begins in compulsion becomes urgent need, and Claire finds herself torn between two very different men, in two irreconcilable lives.
This eBook includes the full text of the novel plus the following additional content:

Book 3, Voyager, Plot Summary:

The year is 1968, and Claire has just discovered, with the help of Roger Wakefield, that her husband Jamie Fraser may not have died at the Battle of Culloden, an assumption she has held for twenty years. As Claire, her daughter Brianna, and Roger track Jamie through the historical record, Claire is torn between her duty as a mother and her desire to return to Jamie. For his part, Jamie finds himself not well pleased that the British refused to kill him after the failed Rising, and must instead find his own way forward, his wife gone and his country devastated by war and famine. After twenty years apart, Claire casts herself through the mysterious stone circle once more and travels back to the 18th century to find Jamie, unsure of exactly what or who she will find when she does.

Book 7, An Echo in the Bone Plot Summary:

Claire Randall knows that the Americans will win, too, but not what the ultimate price may be. That price won’t include Jamie’s life or his happiness, though—not if she has anything to say about it.
Meanwhile, in the relative safety of the twentieth century, Jamie and Claire’s daughter, Brianna, and her husband, Roger MacKenzie, have resettled in a historic Scottish home where, across a chasm of two centuries, the unfolding drama of Brianna’s parents’ story comes to life through Claire’s letters. The fragile pages reveal Claire’s love for battle-scarred Jamie Fraser and their flight from North Carolina to the high seas, where they encounter privateers and ocean battles—as Brianna and Roger search for clues not only to Claire’s fate but to their own. Because the future of the MacKenzie family in the Highlands is mysteriously, irrevocably, and intimately entwined with life and death in war-torn colonial America.
With stunning cameos of historical characters from Benedict Arnold to Benjamin Franklin, An Echo in the Bone is a soaring masterpiece of imagination, insight, character, and adventure—a novel that echoes in the mind long after the last page is turned.
